Review

First thoughts

My first thoughts of the game were a bit mixed. On the one hand, the landscapes of both the city and the nomad lands were astonishing. On the other hand, the game did appear to be a tad rushed in many areas. Glitching and bugs bred new critics and developed CD Projekt skeptics. We have almost entered a norm where games have released unfinished. Frankly, I thought we would get more at release. The game has seen some light overhaul since release. It is much more stable and still just as amazing.

Additional Thoughts

The game has remarkable replayability. This is largely due to the fact that the game is able to be played as one of 3 factions. Dialogue options, story, and cosmetics may change with the choices made in the game. The story is also very good. These things make playing through multiple times is a must. The side missions are just as good as the story at times and are numerous.

Game Features

Difficulty Levels

There are varying difficulty levels to choose from which I find necessary. The difficulty also does noticeably correspond with the change in level.

Audio & Music

Solid bangers can be heard throughout the world. A lot of thought was put into developing sounds that would further immerse the player into the environment that is Night City.

Video

The game offers a decent photo mode which is an absolute must in a game with this much depth in the world. The city looks great and is loaded seamlessly through zones with no noticeable frame rate droppage. This allows the visuals to shine as intended.

Controls

The controls can fill a tad different, depending on what games you are used to at the time of playing. The game also adds a twist on the controls by allowing us to upgrade our cyberware. This essentially adds additional controls to our character by changing the devices on our bodies. It can take an adjustment.

Modes

This is a single-player only game.

Other Features & Key points

  • Single-player only
  • Great main story
  • Numerous side quests
  • Great photo mode

Notes

The game has needed more work since release and currently needs additional work. This fact has hurt the RogueRating for Cyberpunk 2077. What we got is good, but more is needed to make it a Great game. Easily worth a playthrough.

Rogue Rating 82
