Cyberpunk 2077 Next-Gen Update makes it a must play in 2022?

Cyberpunk 2077 had a rocky start when it released at the end of 2020. Bugs plagued some, players demanded refunds, and Sony even completely pulled the game out of the PlayStation store.

Now in 2022, a massive update and overhaul of the game and its features looks to re-engage the player base. New features including additional apartments for V, photomode upgrades, a ton of performance enhancements, and more were added to the game.

CD Projekt RED Had a similar early slump with their release of the Witcher 3. Players of course have a short-term memory and only mind with what they have now. Witcher 3 being one of the better games of the last generation.

It looks like we will soon turn the page on CP2077’s rocky start as well. This huge update appears to take advantage of Next-Generation Console’s abilities as well as newer model PC upgrades.

I, for one, am excited to see this transition. I was quite pleased with the game on last generation consoles as I did not experience many of the issues plaguing other players. I am now playing on a next gen console, as well as PC.

My Thoughts

The game looks absolutely incredible. You can witness the upgrades as soon as you load in. I do find that the game doesn’t key you in very well as to the new & upcoming DLC’s which are available. On screen prompts hint at them, but do not describe very well as to how to access them.

For example, knowing how to access the new apartments. You need only to use the computer in V’s standard apartment. (Which is also now upgradable.) You also need to have completed the quest, Playing for Time. – If you didn’t know that, of course you could have issues.

Performance has increased dramatically. As has the overall experience. I hope that you give it a try. If you didn’t fight through the initial issues with the game at release -you will have no idea what happened. Returning players shall be quite pleased with the changes.
