Split screen games are becoming a thing of the past. Battle royales and MMO’s are sweeping the gaming community, and taking a way a demand for local co-operative games on PlayStation 4 and XboxOne.
That does not mean that splitscreen games do not exist on consoles, though. In this article you will read about 5 great splitscreen games that you can play right now on PS4 and XB1.
5. Borderlands 3.
Borderlands 3 feels like a classic looter shooter game. It feels this way primarily because that’s exactly what it is. Team up locally to take down the dreaded CoV Twins and other bosses throughout the solar system. This game features beautiful, comic like animation and graphics, and is wonderful to play with your significant other or local mate.
4. 7 Days to Die.
This game is a bit of a wild card. You either really like it, or get bored very quickly. You need to be quite the grinder to play in its non-creative mode. Luckily for you non-game players, there is a creative mode which essentially hands the game to you. It is a ton of fun for me and a mate on split-screen. Build up your defenses and prepare for an all out assault from zombie hordes every 7 in-game days (nights).
Outward is a game I recently stumbled upon. I recommend both you and your partner complete the opening “training” separately before joining screens. This is not 100% necessary, but it will allow you both to get the starter weapons / accessories with ease. After that, venture off into Chersonese and have a wonderful time. Pack light and plan to work as a team as much as possible! This game can be quite challenging staring out.
2. Ark: Survival Evolved
In my opinion, this is one of the best games available right now. This can be played as a survival game, an MMO, an RPG, and who knows what else. This game does have bugs, and I’m sure the community will remind me. This is still a great game. Tame, craft, build, and survive your way to a happy marriage with this prehistoric survival title. That’s right, tame dinosaurs.
1. Call of Duty: Black Ops 4
So why Black Ops 4 over more recent Call of Duty titles? Well they’re all splitscreen, yet this one has multiplayer… AND ZOMBIES. This particular zombie game has many great features that build off of the previous titles, as well as, sets up the future of zombie games. I look forward to this top spot being taken by Call of Duty: Black Ops – Cold War very soon.
There you have it. That’s five games that are splitscreen on consoles. These are wonderful games that I currently play with my significant other, and enjoy very much. Couples that game together, stay together. I think? Either way, get her or him to grind resources before they leave!
